OUR HISTORY

Christ the King Church began assembling for worship services in the fall of 2000, having been birthed from Calvary Evangelical Free Church of Essex Fells, NJ. Several years before this, a few families shared a vision for planting a church in Morris County. After much planning and prayer, the Lord brought this dream to fruition. CTK met for the first nine months in Gordon and Sharon Dahl’s basement, then moved to the Cedar Lake Community Club for several years before moving again to the Morris Catholic High School cafeteria. In 2020, the Founders Baptist Church in Dover gave us their building in Dover, NJ, which was originally designed as a synagogue in 1935.

We thank the Lord for our lovely new home in Dover, and for the joy, peace, and mutual affection He has granted us from the beginning. In October of 2025, we began a Sunday service in Spanish following our English service. We have also been blessed to partner with two vital local ministries, the Market Street Mission and First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, and to support four Gospel outposts overseas in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti; Lyon, France; Mango, Togo; and Southeast Asia.

Our address is 39 Orchard Street.
We pray that our church will be an orchard full of Gospel truth, goodness, and beauty, and that we will flourish for God's glory and the benefit of all those around us.
